Francesca Planeta Honored with the Compasso d’Oro Career Award

Francesca Planeta was honored with the prestigious Compasso d’Oro career award that celebrates her professional career and the significant contribution she has made to the Made in Italy food design sector

The jury recognized Francesca’s ability to combine her love for the Sicilian territory with a modern and innovative vision, making Planeta become a symbol of excellence in the wine and wine tourism field.

This award is not only a tribute to Francesca’s professional experience, who, thanks to the legacy of her father Diego, together with her cousins Alessio and Santi and the support of her whole family and of the people who work in the winery, has helped elevating Planeta to new heights, but also a sign of how design can be a powerful tool to tell and enhance the culture and history of a territory.

Il Compasso d’Oro, istituito nel 1954 e giunto oggi alla 70esima edizione, è il più antico e autorevole premio di design al mondo, e riconosce l’eccellenza nella progettazione e produzione. Questo tributo alla carriera di Francesca Planeta non è solo un omaggio al suo percorso professionale, ma anche un segnale di come il design possa essere uno strumento potente per raccontare e valorizzare la cultura e la storia di un territorio.

Questa onorificenza giunge a pochi giorni dal conferimento della chiave della Guida Michelin a La Foresteria Planeta – il Wine Resort della famiglia a Menfi sulla costa sud-occidentale della Sicilia – che celebra le strutture che offrono i soggiorni più straordinari ed è un omaggio all’unicità del luogo menfitano, che incarna l’anima e l’ospitalità della famiglia Planeta come “Soggiorno Speciale”.
