Between Two Seas: A Journey of Flavors from Cetara to Sciacca

On October 24th, 2024, La Foresteria Planeta will host the event “Between Two Seas: A Journey of Flavors from Cetara to Sciacca.” This unique gastronomic encounter will feature two exceptional chefs: Pasquale Torrente, renowned chef of Al Convento restaurant in Cetara, and Angelo Pumilia, resident chef at La Foresteria Planeta.

Don’t miss the chance to experience a night that celebrates the diverse Mediterranean soul through the distinct flavors of Cetara and Sciacca.

Pasquale Torrente is an ambassador of the traditional colatura di alici (anchovy sauce) of Cetara, an ancient condiment, and a well-known face on both national and international television. His cuisine is deeply rooted in local traditions, highlighting the freshness of Campania’s finest ingredients.

Angelo Pumilia, the chef at La Foresteria since its opening, brings a wealth of international experience, blending the flavors of his native Sciacca with influences from Japanese cuisine. This unique combination will create innovative dishes that honor the Sicilian anchovy.

Book

Football, Marseille, Anna’s zeppole, Istanbul, Marietta, Volterra and its prison (where the powerful and beautiful “Galeotte” dinners were born), Festa a Vico (from the wild early editions to its current evolution, which still retains a touch of that anarchic spirit), and then the Refettorio in Paris, alongside Bottura, Yannick Alléno, and Alain Ducasse. The story unfolds through 28 memories and 32 recipes, intimate glimpses of the flavors that Pasquale Torrente continues to bring with him at his Convento in Cetara.
